Good afternoon to everybody who read this story. 24 years old and i love travel so much. Make me realize how small i am. Release all the heavy things around me. Make me think and remember the reason why i leave my hometown a few years ago.
You know, i have designed a structure to protecting river. This river large slope so it have a large discharge and water velocity. It is already destroy a channel on the left side of river by a local scouring. Thats a small part of my work out here. But you know? The people here? They dont deserve called as an engineer. They talk louder about money than number. Blinded by money.
On that situation i need a time to go alone. A time to travel and enjoy my self. A few days ago, my office order me to go to bogor. Its a place near jakarta. When we speak about bogor, i know i can travel to a castle. Bogor castle.
Short story, after i finished my office work, i start to travel to this amazing place. It is my first time travel to bogor. When you want to visit bogor, first you can start your journey to jakarta. From my project site in slawi, i start use bus to Tegal station. Its about 20 km from site project. Everywhere you stand, you can travel to jakarta but i recommended you go by train. Its a cheap, fast, and enjoyable transportation.
Here i go, 4 hours from tegal and arrived in Jakarta. Argo Sindhoro, the name of train that i use to go to jakarta. Okay now we talk little about jakarta. Now in 2019, people can travel easier in jakarta. We have MRT, LRT, KRL, Bus way, and some other public transportation. We can use commuter line or KRL if we want to go to bogor. From Gambir train station, i walk about 15 minutes to juanda station. Then get commuter line to bogor. Ah i visited my senior high school friend before going to bogor. Reynaldi and khafid.
My senior high school friend work at national information institution. As long as i know they fight against cyber crime. They life in a apartment near their office in depok. A day stay there, i enjoying a durian fruit ice. Hehehe in indonesian, we call mango as mangga, orange as jeruk, but if we talk about this fruit, we call durian as durian. I think this fruit come from asian area but i dont know exactly.
In depok, hmm i think soekarno - hatta road, you will find small shop in the corner. They sell a variety of durian ice with variety topping. If you love that kind of fruit, you wouldnt be regret if you go there. My recommendation is durian ice fruit with extra cheese, drink this with acoustic music that fight against crowdly sound of jakarta. That time still at 8 p.m. what else in depok? Of course we talk about the first university in indonesia. University of indonesia. You know, i am bachelor of brawijaya university in malang. We go there enjoying the night scene. They have small lake and a great scene of their library. We go around for a while, take a picture. Make me wonder if in the past i choosen this university? Maybe i have a very different story to tell. Maybe i can make a different title of story before. Maybe wont be there a charles story there. But you know everything already happened.

Beside everythings i ever regret about my decision, i never regret i go study to brawijaya university. Meet a very various people in my father hometown. Learn about life with amazing people. Take a big big broken heart and then i am still alive till now. Amazing story right. That night was amazing night to burn spirit for another studying story next time.
In the morning, i go to the BIG. Hmm i forgot about this institution full name, But people go there for topography data or something about it. If we plan something, we will need various data include topography data. They have it, they sell it, we use it. So we talk about people who expert use theodolite, expert use total station and many others. Drawing world face in a paper they said. So my office ask me to go there because we have a project there. As a designer, sometime i need to spare my time to go to an event like this. Oke i think i dont need to tell you the detail what i am doing there.
12.15 p.m i see the clock. My obligation done. I have a lot of time before my travel back to tegal. Train of Indonesia ticketting still trouble, so i need to stay jakarta for another one day. I decide to see Castle Of Bogor. I have no detail about it. But from BIG in LIPI area, i need to go to nearby station by motorcycle (gojek). That take a commutter train to bogor station.
Here i am at the part that i want to tell you this time. I arrived at bogor station about 2 p.m. no need a long time of travel to here. Get off from the train, go outside of train station, next step you need go walk left side of train station. Walk about 15 minutes and you arrive at bogor castle area. This area so wide and there are several soldier guarding this area. Not many people can go through this area. Maybe government polician or a president can go inside this area freely. The unique part is you can see some deer walking around freely there. But dont worry, we still can go inside from bogor botanical garden gate.

Just walk around the fence. 10 minutes and you arrive at that gate. Okay here you will fill amaze. In the middle of city like bogor, you feel the air is better here. Little smoke things, fresh air, and better scene. Everything green and its only Rp.15.000,00 to go through this area. I walk in and amaze by a lake near the gate. Everything seems so different and make us forget if we stay in the middle of the city. If we look from another side of scene, you would be feel so sad. A hundred years ago this all are a part of the jungle, but now? Just this little part left. Remind me the greedy of humanity. Oh i forgot, i mean the greedy of my country here i talk.
Go inside and many couple sit in the bench here. Hmm i think its really a good place for a romantic moment. Imagine you sit here, in the middle of fresh air. Little bird sing. Lake with pretty clean water. Talking about future with your partner of life? Oh damn. Another love story to write right. Just add a tragedy and everything feels so good. The tragedy here? They throw up trash to the lake. So damn people, damn couple. I shout to them not to rubbish here, many people see those couple and The man seem so ashame, he take back the rubbish in the lake and throw it to trash.

I know hard to understand my people. But imagine it, there are about 10 couple in a time. There is 1 couple throw a trash. And only me shout that it is wrong. Next time i walk beside an old man and he speak english. He's name is james and he is a botanical scientist. He told me that not many people here dare and understand about something like that. Its feel like a karma for me. I feel ashame of my own country when i know, people from another country care more than my people to our land.
He stay to study about some plant in indonesia. In botanical bogor garden, there are a few time when a big flower called raflesia arnoldi blooming. It a very big flower that have a smell like carcass. Unfortunatelly it is not that time when i arrived there. So i continue my walk beside the lake. In the end of the lake road, we will see a big white building with a very wide yard. It is called bogor castle. There are several soldier guarding there so i cannot go through from that road. But i know something when a guide with some visitor arrive beside me. Bogor castle is a big house that exist before my country free. We under invasion by holland about 150 years and holland people built this to enjoy their life here before taked back by indonesia.

Beside that castle there is a graveyard. A big stone graveyard. But when i go near that stone. It writed R.I.P and named by holland name. So this is the burial place for holland people that life in this castle. If you see one by one, you would realize some of them have a similar name but have a different dead time. So they life here absouluttely for some generation then die and burried here.
Walk through that graveyard, you will find a big size of park. I have already read a literature on the internet. West culture at that time they like to make a party and show their high position on the government. Bigger party means bigger position on a government structure. People like thomas stamford raflesh? he is a leutnant and have a good position on government. Knowing that fact, standing on the center of their park make me can imagine how big the party at that time. No lamp i think but there are many thorch. Many people come here. A great air. And absolutely much delicious food and drink there. I know it is a beautiful life there and i will very enjoy it. As a history said, they stayed here for a long generation. About 150 years. So it is an answer for a few generation that ever live and burried here.

Next spot i want to go is raflesia arnoldi flower. This is a biggest flower on the earth. When i elementary school, i ever read about this flower. It is a kind of flower that bloom in a time. When it is fully bloom, it has a fire red collor. Okay i see it from a picture in my book actually. The wierd things here is when it is fully bloom, they produce some smell of carcass to attract fly. Normally flower product nectar to attract butterfly and many insect. But this flower attract fly. Fly will think it is a carcass because it smell. Then they help this flower doing pollination. I know it is a different flower but knowing i read it in elementary school long years ago, my curriosity burning.
Bogor botanical garden have absolutely wide area. I try to follow the sign that writed a way to raflesia arnoldi flower. I walk about 15 minutes. When i walk in the road, some area can reached by car. Some visitor can drive their car then enjoying the scenery. I think bad about the regulation here because it would be nice for a green places like this stay away from gas pollution of car. But when i walk another 15 minutes? Hahaha i know well why the regulation said like that. The distance too far for many people to walk. This area is too wide. But you know, walking in the middle of "green" make me excited see everything around. The sign, the weird trees, the bird, and many others. Suddenly i realize that the sign to raflesia arnoldi gone. There are no another sign left. The wood so big and high. Then i walk near the river. Hahahaha. I decide to walk back when i see the time almost at 4 p.m. another 30 minutes and finnally botanical garden out gate.
My walk isn't end yet. I need to walk with a screamed leg after a long walk today to the station. My leg start to hard to move but you know i need to catch up the train. End in the bogor station to catch juanda station then Gambir station, my handphone vibrate, my samsung health app always record my step when i moving. The result? 23000 ++ step already done for today. Hahaha nice long walk for a journey to the city of rain. Everything feel slow, many people going home from their work. The train start move and last thing I remember they sleep in the train, so do i, start closing my eyes while standing on the corner. I know i miss the flower, but the time push me to End my adventure today.
